Camel ADV Gut Guard skid plates, designed, tested, and built in the rugged Canadian Rockies.

The Aprilia Tuareg is a very capable ADV bike, but to make the most of its dirt prowess, it needs a big, beefy skid plate to protect it. If you take this bad boy off the beaten path, you better plate up!

Like many new bikes, the 660 Tuareg uses the engine as a "stressed member." The motor itself is an integral part of the motorcycle's chassis. This creates a challenge when designing a skid plate to protect the underside of the motor from damage caused by rocks, stumps, logs, etc. A skid plate can be mounted directly to the motor, but the force from a solid impact is transferred into the engine case. This can cause a cracked engine case which can be a costly and lengthy repair.

The Camel ADV Gut Guard uses an impact-absorbing subframe mounting plate to disperse the energy from significant hits. The energy created when the bike collides with rocks, roots, stumps, etc, is distributed to all of the skid plate's mounting locations rather than just to the location of the hit. This distribution of force means the chances of damaging the engine case due to a large hit are drastically reduced.

We've spent much time designing and testing our Tuareg Gut Guard skid plate to ensure it'll take the abuse we know some of you will throw at it!

Exceeded Expectations for Quality, Fit and Function

If your looking at other skid plates for your Tuareg 660 stop here and buy Camel's Gut Guard Skid Plate. It has exceeded all my expectations for quality, fit and function under hard off-road use. Easy to install, over engineered and looks good too. No issues fitting it with my SW-MOTECH crash bars.

Beefy, great looking skid plate!

Ordered this skid plate based on being a previous customer and familiar with the quality products Camel ADV sell. I also wanted a silver skid play (for looks) and not too many on the market. The gut guard skid plate fit like a glove and is such an improvement over the stock skid plate. A+++! Highly recommend!

Best skid plate made for the Tuareg 660

Bought 2 of these with Slip Liners for my friend's and my Aprilia Tuaregs. I recommend getting the Slip Liner as well if you think you might ride any type of log hops, large rocks, or similar obstacles. I did an excessive amount of research on various different skid plates available for the Aprilia Tuareg 660. The Camel ADV Gut Guard was hands down the best of all of them for overall protection and durability. I love how the Gut Guard's design makes it less directly mounted, as it gives the extra durability and protection we needed for some of the rocky terrain in our area. Cory's installation video made it a breeze to install. The first Gut Guard arrived quickly and has been on the bike for several months and does It's job wondeefully. Although there were some delays with production on the second one, Holly was very active in keeping me informed with clear communications throughout the process and the second guard has arrived and will be going on very soon and will be featured in an upcoming Wyoming Family Adventures video.
